Veterinary Orthopedic Manipulation (VOM)

Veterinary Orthopedic Manipulation (VOM) is a healing technology that re-establishes neuronal communication through manipulation of the spinal cord and induces healing.
VOM is singularly the most simple, effective and safe healing modality in veterinary care to date. This technology was created by Dr. Bill Inman, DVM (www.vomtech.com). Being a chiropractic student and also having a background in veterinary pathology, I was immediately attracted to Dr. Inman's adjusting technique.

Frequently Asked Questions

What animals can benefit from VOM?

Like people, all animals can benefit from regular chiropractic care. Our (humans and animals) vertebral column houses our spinal cord and a misalignment of one or more of the vertebrea can cause nerve interference which can lead to pain, loss of sensation or a number of other diseases. Therefore, I believe that all animals can benefit from VOM. Chiropractitoners have had lots of success in treating different musculoskeletal and neurological disorders. The VOM method is done in close affliliation with the animal's primary care veterinarian and provides the animal with non-invasive, affordable and effective complementary care.

I am willing to work with all animals that need care, but my specialty is horses. If you have a horse with lameness issues, attitude problems, inability to pick up a lead, trouble bending to one side, etc., I encourage you to see what VOM can do for your horse.

Along with adjusting the horse, I also do somato-visceral work, myofascial release, hoof evaluation, nutritional counseling, saddle evaluation and rider postural evaulation. Addressing these issues can have a HUGE impact on the horse's ability to perform.

Disclaimer

Angelique Barbara is not a veterinarian, nor does she practice veterinary medicine. The Veterinary Chiropractitioner title indicate that she has completed the coursework to practice as a VOM practitioner. Angelique is a chiropractic student, with a B.S. in Veterinary Science and a M.S. in Pathobiology, who consults with veterinarians. To enhance the quality of veterinary care, Angelique, utilizes a non-invasive technology called Veterinary Orthopedic Manipulation or VOM. It is a technology that was developed in 1983 by W. Inman, D.V.M. that provides an alternative, non-surgical approach to spinal disorders and lameness. Many neuromuscular disorders can be treated by VOM, a non-invasive, non-painful, and inexpensive healing alternative. The services rendered by Angelique, are restricted to the VOM technologies.  As with all clinical procedures, this technique is being applied without guarantee of cure or promise of relief. Angelique, will work directly in close cooperation with your veterinarian.  Angelique always recommends to follow your veterinarian advice and prescribed medications and to seek specialty veterinary professional opinions if needed regarding the condition or treatment of your animal(s).
